Lighting fixtures all done!

Ah.. how relieved I feel!!!

We moved to our apartment in Selayang officially last Tuesday. Yes, I know it was Raya holiday. But we both took 1 week leave so that we'd have ample time to prep up the house before we start work this monday.

The house, being new did not have the lightings and fans installed yet. So, naturally the first thing we did after we came back to KL was to visit the Lighting stores. We'd like to have the lights installed that Tuesday, if we could so that we can move in comfortably.

We did a research on the internet beforehand and had determine the best place to shop for lightings in Klang Valley which is the none other but the Houses of :Lightings (the store said Houses Lightings without the 'of' in between) in Puchong. The shop is quite hard to find, its not really in the town of Puchong but near the shop lots of a residential area: Puchong Utama. But unfortunately, the shop was closed for Raya break, so we didnt manage to get in that day.

Houses of Lighting, Puchong, Jln BFU 6, Puchong Utama

Disappointed but still wanting to buy lights and fans, we scouted the area for any other Light Stores. We found YT Lighting was open and decided to go in. This store is a bit easier to find and is located just before Tesco Puchong. We were very surprised seeing so many people in the store despite being a Raya break. We had quite a trouble to get a salesman attending to us but we didnt mind that as it gives us a chance to browse through the shop.

We were looking for 5 ceiling fans with light fixtures and a couple of lights. After choosing and re-choosing from the many options they provided, we asked the salesman for a price quote. Here's what they quote us (I cant remember the models, but i'll try my best to find the pictures that best represent the fans & lights):

Elmark 52" : RM 402
Modern FanAvill 56" (5 blades) : RM 450

We wanted to buy 2 Elmark and 3 Avill fans, so the total would be = RM 2154. I thought it was pretty cheap since my budget was RM2500 but my husband insisted that we should at least check the prices at Houses of Lightings first. Besides, we were not very familiar with Avill brand. People usually recommend us Elmark or Alpha for ceiling fan with lighting.

So, the next morning we went to Houses of Lightings. Thank god it was open! Hehe...The shop was so busy with customers and there were so many options to choose from. We were a bit lost amidst the many fans and lights there so we engaged one of their salesperson to help us choose. I personally think their customer service is pretty good. And as we expected, they gave us much much better prices.

In the end, we bought these ceiling fans from Alpha:

Alpha VS5 including circular light : RM 338

Bianca Aged Bronze
Alpha Bianca : RM 402

We bought 3 Alpha VS5 for bedrooms and 2 Alpha Bianca for Living rooms = RM 1882.
This price includes the energy saving bulbs and lights with 3-years warranty. Cheap, right??? The lightings are much more cheaper! I think with RM 20++ you can already get beautiful lighting. Chandeliers and wall lamps are equally as cheap!

Other than being cheap, we also like their service. They asked us to watch them check every single items in every boxes of fans and lights we bought before paying. We were given a number receipt to queue for the payment counter while checking the items. Not long after that, our number was called for payment. And dear me; their labour men who helped us carry all the big boxes into our car really know how to make everything fit! Our Vios car boot was already full with our moving-house stuffs that we forgot to unload before coming to their shop (talk about eagerness!!). So, the only option was to stack everything at the back seat but they really did their job well. Everything fits safe and sound.

So, yeah! All the ceiling fans and lightings have now been installed successfully!
Next- Kitchen Cabinet and Wardrobe hunting :)
